Since ACT-Caritas began responding in Darfur, a critical aspect of our work has been to highlight not just the assistance being provided, but to tangibly lift up the lives of people through photography. And so, over the past few years, professional photographers have visited our programmes, interacted with communities and made visible a side Darfur not often seen.
In the photo galleries on the right -- going back to 2004 -- we invite you to witness the lives of people who are surviving in the midst of significant hardship. And, ultimately, the photographs are not us speaking, but simply a conduit through which people speak for themselves.
High resolutions photos from South and West Darfur are available for use by ACT and Caritas members. Please email actcom[at]act-intl.org for access information to the ACT-Caritas Darfur Photo Site.
If you are not an ACT or Caritas member and you are interested in reprint permission for any of the photographs that you see in our galleries, please contact the ACT International Communications Office at actcom[at]act-intl.org.
