Security Manager - NCA Darfur Programme 

Contract: 12 Months (unaccompanied)

Based: Darfur

Salary: £31,861 - £35,346 p.a.

The Darfur Crisis is a complex emergency that continues to unfold; Action by Churches Together (ACT) International and Caritas Internationalis are responding together to the significant humanitarian need on the ground. We work together to support the people caught up in the crisis providing support to Norwegian Church Aid who manage the NCA Darfur Programme in Sudan. CAFOD, as the lead Caritas agency, takes specific responsibility and support for recruitment of international personnel and seconds these staff to NCA.

Together we require a Security Manager to provide technical knowledge of security operations, advice, training and support to our offices across Darfur. The successful applicant will have significant experience as a security manager in complex emergency situations and experience of management in an NGO environment. Significant experience of ensuring compliance to best practise and international standards i.e. Red Cross Code of Conduct is also required.

WatSan ECHO Co-ordinator - NCA Dafur Programme 

Contract: Until 1st January 2010

Based: Zalingei, Darfur, Sudan

Salary: £22,133 - £24,643 p.a.

CAFOD, on behalf of Action by Churches Together (ACT) International and Caritas Internationalis, is seeking a WatSan ECHO Coordinator for the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Darfur Programme. CAFOD, as the lead Caritas agency, takes specific responsibility and support for recruitment of international personnel and seconds staff to NCA.

Together CAFOD and NCA require a qualified and experienced Water, Civil or Sanitation engineer. The candidate would have significant international field experience managing and implementing Water and Sanitation programmes. Experience of working to best practise and international standards including SPHERE Standards is essential. Ideally candidates would have previous experience working in insecurity environments. People management skills, experience of managing multi-cultural workplaces is essential. Fluency in English is required. Experience of working with ECHO's project cycle management, specifically proposal and reporting requirements, would be a considerable advantage.
